A ‘service termination authorisation code’ (or STAC code), allows you to cancel your mobile number with your previous supplier when you change networks.

Things to know about your STAC code:-

A STAC code is issued free of charge and is valid for 30 days only
Your new provider should be able to cancel your number the next working day if you give them your STAC code before 4pm, however there's no porting at weekends or on English Bank Holidays
If you don't use the STAC code, your account will remain open and you'll continue to be charged for service.

Unfortunately, you may be required to pay an early termination charge (ETC) if you cancel your contract early, we calculate the relevant ETC owed by you on termination of the Service Agreement as follows:

We multiply your monthly subscription charge price (taking into account any monthly discounts you are entitled to) by the number of months remaining of your Minimum Contract Period as at the date of the termination request.
We then deduct VAT at the applicable rate; and
Add a small discount of approximately 3% for any benefit we might receive from no longer providing the Pay Monthly SIM-Only Service to you on our Network.
