We've said goodbye to 3G

Our 3G service has now been switched off

At Asda Mobile we have now switched off our 3G network across the UK so we can focus on better connections with 4G and 5G services.

What does this mean for me?

There are some simple steps you can take to make saying goodbye to 3G easier.

Check your phone

First of all, check if your phone is compatible with 4G calling in your settings. If your device is compatible, you will see either ‘4G’ or ’5G’ already selected in your data/network settings.

Set up 4G calling

Setting up 4G calling means you get to enjoy clearer calls by using your phone’s 4G data.

Upgrade your handset

If your phone isn’t compatible with 4G or Wi-Fi calling, you could consider upgrading! Check out our range of compatible devices online or in store.

If you’re already using 4G or 5G, you don’t need to do anything. If your phone doesn’t support 4G, your phone will now use the 2G network instead.

Time for an upgrade?

4G and more recently 5G technologies have introduced many benefits over 3G, such as faster internet speeds and improved call quality.

Wi-Fi calling is also usable and allows you to make and receive calls and texts in any location you are connected to a Wi-Fi network, even if there’s no regular phone signal.

Check your network coverage to see if you can benefit from 4G or 5G.
