5G is the 5th and most recent generation of data speed.
It allows you to connect to the internet at super fast speeds whilst out and about.
It aims to deliver even faster speeds, lower latency, increased coverage, and greater efficiency.

5G can achieve download speeds 10 to 100 times faster than 4G. With Asda mobile, you could see download speeds between 100Mbps and 150Mbps!
The speed you can achieve depends on things like your location, how close you are to a 5G mast, what SIM plan you’re on, and if people around you are also using 5G.
You’ll be blown away by the speeds you can achieve with 5G when compared to 4G. You’ll be wondering how you ever coped with such a slow connection for so long! No more buffering, lagging, or connections drops in crowds.
Although 5G data outperforms 4G, it’s not as widespread (yet). It’s still a new technology, and has only been available in the UK for a few years. Rollout, coverage, and compatibility with 5G will only increase as time goes on.
We also offer 5G roaming! You can currently use 5G in the following EU locations:
It’s not only about speed. Even with a speed cap, there's plenty to love about 5G. Enjoy less lag, better connectivity in busy areas, and lower energy consumption!

All of the 5G phones we sell go through comprehensive testing to make sure they comply with international safety guidelines.

Of course! If 5G is available, you’ll automatically use it, but if it’s not, your phone will fallback to 4G.
Yes! We offer 5G in locations across Germany, Italy, Spain, and Ireland. Consult the table above for more information.
All of our SIM cards are 5G ready, meaning you don't need to order a special SIM to enjoy 5G speeds!
It depends on your phone’s make and model. You should consult the phone manufacturer’s website and check what mobile networks your particular model supports.
Unfortunately not. If your phone does not support 5G, you’ll have to buy a new phone which is 5G compatible. We sell a range of 5G enabled phones.
First of all, you need to make sure your phone is 5G compatible. If it is, you simply need to turn on 5G in your settings. This depends on the make and model, but can be usually found in your ‘Network’ settings.
Yes, they do! Our 5G SIMs are also 4G compatible, meaning that they will work in 4G phones. This does not mean that you can use 5G speeds, though - for that you will need a 5G phone.
