How to top up your phone

You can top-up in several different ways:

• Top-up by using your free online account! Simply register or log in to your account and click top up on your overview page. You will be asked how much you want to top up, and to add new payment card which can be saved for the next time you top up. You can also set up automatic top-ups when your balance reaches a desired amount, all from the same place! If you're having trouble, double check that your phone number is linked to your account by clicking 'link number to my account' from the navigation menu.
• Top-up card - you load your balance at the checkout in one of our stores or any other store that displays a top-up logo. After topping, up you can then use our standard rate or purchase bundles.
• Debit / credit card - Call 2732 from your Asda Mobile to register your credit or debit card details to top-up over the phone.

Please do not purchase a Vodafone top-up voucher, as these will not work on our network.

• Due to the way our systems work when using data, we will reserve up to 50MB of data per data session.
• This will mean that your account balance may appear higher than you actually have to use as the reserved data is held for up to 6 hours following the last data session.

Example:

• If you have a balance of £2.50 and start a data session we will reserve 50MB of data (equivalent of £2 of charges), if you use 1MB of data you will be charged 4p and your balance will show as £2.46, however until the reserved data is released you will only have 50p to use on calls and texts.
• If you continue to use more data we will use the remainder of the reserved data until this is used up and will again reserve up to 50MB of data.
• If your account has less than £2 available, we will reserve only the amount available. For example, if you have 50p left, we will reserve that amount. You will not be able to make calls or send SMS if the full remaining balance is released.
• The easiest way to release an ongoing data session is to put your phone in an airplane mode for a few seconds.

A quick and simple way to check your balance is through our online account – sign up for free here. Your balance will be shown on your overview page, as soon as you login - if you can't see this, you will need to link your number to your account. You can do this by clicking 'Link your Asda Mobile number' from the right hand navigation menu.

Alternatively, text 'BAL' to 2732 (free of charge) to check your balance, or call 2732 (free of charge) from your Asda Mobile and select option 1.

You must make a chargeable call or text every 180 days to keep your number fully active. If you haven't used your SIM in the last 180 days, your calls will be forwarded to our automated service which means you won't be able to call anyone, however you will still be able to receive inbound calls.

• To reactivate your SIM, you will need to call us on 0808 006 2732 from any phone.
• If you haven't used your Asda Mobile SIM in the last 270 days, all activity will be barred from your SIM card and all credit will be removed.
• After 270 days, your number will be disconnected from the network and the number will be deleted. We're unable to reactivate a SIM if the number has not been used for over 270 days. If this has happened, you can view our full range of deals online or visit a store to pick up either a 50p or pre-loaded SIM.

A top-up card is a swipe card registered to your Asda Mobile phone. You can use it to load credit onto your account when you visit an Asda store, or another shop where you see the top-up logo. You cannot add a bundle to a top-up card.

If you would like an Asda Mobile top-up card, you can order a free one here. When you receive your top-up card you will need to call us on 2732 (free of charge) to link your card to your Asda Mobile SIM.

If you have lost your Asda Mobile top-up card, you can order a free replacement here.

When you receive your replacement top-up card you will need to call us on 2732 (free of charge) to link this to your Asda Mobile SIM. Don’t worry, the money you have in your account is completely safe and will remain on your account.

You can top-up up to £50 in one go using both a debit or credit card or your top-up card.

To keep your SIM card active, you need to call, text or use data every during 180 day periods or your SIM will expire.

If you have migrated to our new service you will need to order a replacement top-up card and link it to your new account.

For your account credit to remain active you must top-up or purchase a plan within 180 days of either activating your account (i.e. when you first made a call, sent a text or used data) or the last top-up or plan purchase you made. Every time you top-up or purchase a plan within 180 days, this time frame will reset.

After 180 days without topping-up or purchasing a plan your account will become restricted and you won't be able to make calls, send texts or use data, however you will still be able to receive inbound calls and texts.

We will send you a text message when you reach 180 days of inactivity. To reactivate your account, you will need to call us on 0808 006 2732 from any phone (free of charge) and top-up or purchase a plan.

If after a further 90 days, you haven’t contacted us to top-up or purchase a plan your account will be expired. Once your account is expired you will no longer be able to retrieve the mobile number or any credit remaining on the account.

If this has happened, you can view our full range of deals online or visit a store to pick up either a 50p or pre-loaded SIM card.

To top-up your Asda Mobile account you can only use Visa and Mastercard credit / debit cards that are registered to an address in the UK.

You can add different payment cards on your online account. Please note, if you've recently moved over to our new network, you will need to re-add your payment cards to your new online account.
