Jingle Jangle - A festive musical about a toymaker and his granddaughter, and the magical invention they build together. 

The Princess Switch: Switched Again - A sequel to the successful holiday film of last year, The Princess Switch, this second film follows Vanessa Hudgens portraying three separate lookalike roles. 

Dr Seuss’ The Grinch - the 2018 animated version of the beloved 2000 classic is set to be released on Netflix this year. This computerised adaptation brings another level of love and humour to the Scrooge-like character, The Grinch. Buy the original DVD from Asda for £5.

The Nightmare before Christmas - Tim Burton directs this classic tale that mixes both Halloween and Christmas. Jack Skellington tries to bring Christmas back to Halloweentown, but the rest of the residents are unsure how to react.

What’s new on Amazon Prime?

A Christmas Switch - this 2018 film follows a familiar plotline: two women swap bodies over the festive period, a magic spell that results in learning more about family, giving, and Christmas spirit.

A Majestic Christmas - if you’re a fan of hallmark movies, you’ll love this 2018 feel-good film. We follow Nell and Connor as Nell gives her playhouse away to a new owner. 

Marrying Father Christmas - get in the spirit with this romantic festive film, following almost-newlyweds Mirana and Ian as they try to make this Christmas the best one yet. 

Rock N’ Roll Christmas - embrace the meaning of family this year while watching this 2019 movie, which follows a mother-daughter singing duo. 

12 Pups of Christmas - one for the animal lovers. Watch as a woman is tasked with finding homes for 12 puppies before the Christmas craze. 

What classics are on Amazon Prime?

Like Netflix, there is a wide range of choice on Amazon Prime. With both free and paid films available, you can find almost any festive film you fancy. 

Elf - this 2003 classic follows Will Ferrell as he stars as a human raised as an elf, in search of his real father from the North Pole to NYC.

Love Actually - this beloved early 2000s film features an A-list cast. The rom-com centres around several people looking for love and connection at Christmas. 

The Holiday - Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz star in this rom-com, which follows the lives of two women looking for Mr Right.

Scrooged - Bill Murray takes on the Christmas-loathing character in this 80s classic comedy.

Jack Frost - if you’re not much of a rom-com lover, this festive horror follows a killer snowman as he goes on a murder rampage.

Nativity!, Nativity 2, Nativity 3 - these musical comedies follow a school and teachers who are trying to organise a nativity play.
