Switching to a free Asda multi-SIM card is easy; keep your phone, and just replace the SIM card.

However, I'm sure that the first of your questions that leaps to mind is, what about my phone number? Not a problem!

It's a lot easier than you think to keep your number when you change providers. All you need to transfer your old number to a new SIM card is the correct PAC code.

PAC stands for porting authorisation code. You are able to obtain this code from your old network provider by calling customer services and telling them you need a PAC code to transfer your number to another network provider; they will then give you the code.

The next step is to call Asda Mobile customer services on 2732 from your new Asda Sim or 0800 079 2732 from any phone and provide the PAC code. It will not take more than two working days to move your number from your previous service provider to your new SIM card.

It's that easy. There are a couple of considerations to take into account when you are bringing your number to our service. The first one is about the timing of when the number will be moved; this is because it takes a couple of days before the number is fully activated on your new SIM card, there is the possibility of a gap in service. The best method for dealing with this is to keep the old service operational until your new phone is activated.

You can either begin the process before or after your SIM arrives; however it's important to note that if you start the process before the SIM arrives it will require you to gather information from your carrier and you will be without your old number for a while. A PAC code is usually valid for 30 days. While you are waiting, you will have a temporary number assigned to your SIM card.

New Phone vs Sim Only

When you change phones, a big consideration is the personal data that you have on your old phone such as your contacts and photos and other pieces of information. It will work in an Asda Mobile or any unlocked phone. Port your old number to the SIM card and all else remains the same.
