Samsung J4+ now In-Store

The Samsung Galaxy J4+ has arrived in-store and this is a fabulous phone priced at under £200. Although it’s priced as a low budget smartphone, it has a great high spec, making it probably one of the best ones we’ve had in our range.

The Samsung brand is known for excellence and the Samsung Galaxy J4 follows suit perfectly. This is a reliable smartphone with a big display, so it’s perfect for people who like to be wowed when playing games, browsing the internet, or watching YouTube clips.

The Samsung J4+ can now be purchased instore only and you can match it with one of our Asda mobile SIM’s for the perfect combo, to Order your free SIM or see our full range of SIM Only Bundles click here.

Display

The Samsung Galaxy J4+ has a bright expansive 6.0 HD immersive display. This has an 18.5:9 screen aspect ratio and this simply means that the screen is slightly longer than that of a traditional smartphone. The benefit to this elongated display is that you can view more of a web page or app without scrolling, or you can watch extra-wide movies, videos, and TV shows.

Samsung has given this phone HD+ resolution (1,480x 720 pixels), denoting extra rows of pixels for that longer form. The screen is branded as an Infinity Display, indicating that the display is bordered by only the narrowest bezels.

The design of the phone is attracting rave reviews with its modern look that includes neatly rounded edges. The body of the phone fits comfortably in the palm of your hand, making long phone calls easy. You can purchase the phone in glossy gold, black, or pink. The phone is both light and slim at 7.9mm thick and 178g.

Performance

The phone has a superb chip for its pricing bracket. This is a quad-core 1.4GHz processor with 2GB RAM. While this sounds a bit technical, the takeaway is that you can play high-resolution video without draining your precious battery reserves. You can also play games without any lag or stuttering.

There is a bountiful amount of memory (32GB) for storing hundreds of photos and apps. The fear of ever not having enough memory is dispelled with a memory card slot (up to 512GB MicroSD card).

Photography, Selfies, and Video

The Samsung Galaxy J4 makes light work of capturing brilliant photos with its 13MP camera that has a large aperture. The large f/1.9 aperture is crucial for pulling in every bit of light when you are snapping away in low light.

If you have ever struggled to hold the phone and press the shutter button, then Samsung has solved your problems. A floating shutter button can be moved around the screen, making one-handed photography easy for everyone, no matter how long or short your fingers are, selfies anyone?

Autofocus brings your photos into sharp contrast and when needed, there is a camera LED flash for illuminating the scene. If you wish to record video, then this can be done at Full HD quality.

The 5MP selfie camera has plenty of features and these include colour filters, AR Sticker, Stamp, and Selfie Focus. You can have quite a bit of fun with the Emotify tool that lets you create a female or male avatar, with your own unique likeness.

The final tool that transforms your photography experience is the photo gallery. You can organise your photos and video recordings by theme or sort them into different categories. The really handy part of this is that there is a search bar in the gallery app, so you will never struggle to find the photo that you want to share or remiss over.

Features

One of the top features of the Samsung Galaxy J4+ is the Dolby Atmos surround sound. This creates a home cinema experience with three-dimensional sound-effects. The battery handles music very well with playback times of up to 88 hours.

Apps are handled very well and if you like to multitask, then App Pair will open apps that you like to use together, splitting the screen in half. If you have work and personal chat accounts, then Dual Messenger will let you log into these at the same time.

The final features worthy of note are the Android Oreo (version 8.1) operating system, which brings the Google Assistant and Maps for use with the built-in GPS. If you struggle to remember a PIN number, then you can set up Face Recognition and unlock the phone with a simple glance.

Battery Life

A 3,300mAh capacity battery is supplied with the Galaxy J4+ and this is a 10% improvement on the battery supplied with the original Galaxy J4. The battery will deliver up to 16 hours of internet browsing or up to 15 hours of video playback.

Alternatives to the Samsung Galaxy J4

From call and text to capturing low light photos, the Samsung Galaxy J4 is a great option for anyone on a sub-£200 budget. If we compare this price to other Samsung sim only phones, then its value stands out even more.

The Samsung Galaxy S10 costs around £800 and the slightly older Samsung Galaxy S9 cost around £600. The Samsung Galaxy J4+ clearly represents a great way to get a Samsung-branded phone at a price that won’t break the bank, and you can pick one up today from our retail stores.

The Samsung J4+ can now be purchased instore only, why not pair it with our most popular £10 Bundle?
