Camera
The camera on the Samsung Galaxy A03S is a real treat if you aspire to capture photos with excellent contrast and true-to-life colours.
Main camera
The Samsung Galaxy A03S has a Triple Camera slotted into a rather cool-looking rectangular module on the phone's rear. The 13MP Main Camera will do most of the work, with two extra lenses adding valuable features, effects, and functionality.
The first of these two additional lenses is the 2MP Macro Camera, which lets capture the close-up details you have been missing. You should use the macro camera whenever you are shooting smaller objects, with the best results at a distance of 5cm.
The second subsidiary lens is a 2MP Depth Camera that works in conjunction with the main 13MP lens. You can blur the background for a natural bokeh effect by turning Portrait on. Your subject will always stand out from the background, and using the feature couldn't be more straightforward.
- 13MP + 2MP + 2MP
- 10x digital zoom
- Auto focus
- LED Flash
- FHD video recording (1920 x 1080 pixels / 30fps)
In summary, the Samsung Galaxy A03S camera is excellent for portraits, panoramas, wide shots, and close-ups.
Selfie camera
The 5MP Front Camera is designed for selfies and video calls. Although software-driven, you can get a similar bokeh effect to the main camera, blurring the background for striking results.
Storage
The 32GB internal storage gives you adequate space to start saving your memories. There is also room to expand with a memory card slot that supports cards up to 1TB. That’s enough for literally thousands of photos and hundreds of videos.
Battery
If you have ever felt stressed because your phone's battery is running out, then you will genuinely appreciate the high-capacity battery that comes inside the Galaxy A03S.
With its 5,000mAh capacity, you should easily be able to get two days out of it (with moderate use). The A03S is kitted out with a more-modern USB Type C charging cable, which is included in the box. Thanks to its symmetrical design, connecting to the charging port is hassle-free.
While it doesn’t support super-fast charging, you will enjoy reasonably fast charging, getting you back to full within around 2-3 hours. For most users, you’ll only have to charge for just over an hour a day - anyone who isn’t an overnight charger will really appreciate this.

Display
If you’re after a big screen, you won’t be disappointed by the A03S’s ample 6.5" HD+ Infinity-V Display. This gives you plenty of room for enjoying internet browsing, apps, and gaming. The quality is superb too, with crisp, clear, and sharp visuals.
The Samsung Galaxy A03S has a screen resolution of 1,600 x 720 pixels (270ppi / 20:9 aspect ratio) and a small droplet-shaped cutout where the front camera lives.
Design
Available in black or blue, this Galaxy phone feels soft in the hand with smooth curves and easy screen navigation. The glass front meets a plastic back that wraps around to the sides, with a grippy texture that helps to reduce the likelihood of accidental drops.
Extra Features
The Galaxy A03S runs on Google's Android 11 operating system, refined by Samsung's One UI Core. It’s expected that the A03S will be upgradable to Android 12, but a date for this hasn’t been confirmed.
Samsung's user interface ensures the software and hardware work seamlessly together, even when you are multitasking on a single screen. There are plenty of pre-installed apps, giving you instant access to the most popular Android and Samsung features:
- Play Store
- Maps
- YouTube
- Assistant
- Chrome
- Gmail
- Photos
- Samsung Pay
- Secure Folder
- Bixby Assistant
- Well-being Widget
- Notes
A few of the features Samsung Galaxy A03S owners may like to explore include the Edge panel interface, floating notifications (called Bubbles) for instant messaging apps, and notification history. Notification history is a real lifesaver if you accidentally dismiss a notification.
Cost
The Samsung Galaxy A03S is unquestionably superb value for money with a £140 price tag. It is a great starter phone or a more affordable option for those who want to experience the Galaxy ecosystem without spending too many coppers.
