The iPhone 11: Everything you need to know

The iPhone 11 range was released back in 2019, but still remains popular to this day. If you’re interested in an older but more affordable Apple handset, here’s everything you need to know about the iPhone 11s.

iPhone 11

iPhone 11

The 11 is the base model for the iPhone 11 range, launched at the end of 2019. To date, the 11s still have some of the best cameras, screen sizes, and hardware to be seen on an Apple phone.

Check out the specs on the iPhone 11to see if the original model is the best choice for you.

Price

You can buy the iPhone 11 from Asda mobile from £597.99, depending on how much storage you want.

Display

The iPhone 11 is a fairly large phone, with a 6.1 inch HD display perfect for playing games or watching films. Any videos you watch will be clear and colourful with 1792 x 828 pixel resolution.

Size

In terms of its overall size, it measures 150.9mm x 75.7mm x 8.3mm and weighs around 194 grams. So it’s not too heavy, but also not as lightweight as some other options. If portability is important to you, the 11 may not be the best choice.

Camera

The iPhone 11 has a dual 12MP rear camera and a single 12MP front camera. These specs aren’t as high-tech as a lot of other phones out there nowadays, but a 12MP camera is still decent.

You can also video record in 4K. Additional camera features include 2x optical zoom, 5x digital zoom, night mode, and portrait mode.

Storage

You can buy the 11 with three different storage capacities: 64GB, 128GB, or 256GB. As with all iPhones, you can also take advantage of iCloud for extra storage.

Battery

The iPhone 11 has a 3,110 mAh, which allows for approximately 17 hours of video playback. The 11 also supports Qi wireless charging.

Additional features

  • 4G data
  • Speedy A13 Bionic chip
  • Face ID to unlock
  • IP68: water resistant up to 2 metres for up to 30 minutes
  • Apple Pay - NFC-enabled for contactless pay

iPhone 11 Pro

The 11 Pro is the upgraded version of the original 11, with slightly more sophisticated specs. Though it’ll cost you slightly more, it has some high-tech features to go along with it.

Check these out below to see if the Pro is your best bet.

Price

You can purchase the 11 Pro from £679.

Display

Despite being the upgraded model, the Pro has a smaller display than the 11, at 5.8 inches. Despite the smaller screen, it has a very vivid 2436 x 1125 pixel resolution for clear and detailed imagery.

Size

In terms of its overall size, the 11 Pro is 144.0mm x 71.4mm x 8.1mm. It’s smaller than the original model, making it that much more portable. Ideal for people who prefer their phones to fit easily inside pockets or bags.

Camera

The 11 Pro has a triple 12MP rear camera (Telephoto, Wide, and Ultra Wide), with a 12MP single front camera. You can also video record in 4K in both lenses.

Additional camera features include night mode, slow motion, 2x optical zoom, 4x optical zoom range, and 10x digital zoom.

Storage

You can buy the 11 Pro with three different storage capacities: 64GB, 256GB, or 512GB, depending on how much you need.

Battery

The 11 Pro has a 3,046mAh battery, capable of playing video content for 18 hours and audio playback for 65. It also supports Qi wireless charging.

Additional features

  • 4G
  • A13 Bionic chip
  • Face ID
  • IP68 water-resistant rating, allowing the phone to be submerged in up to 4 metres of water for a maximum of 30 minutes
  • NFC-enabled for contactless payments

iPhone 11 Pro Max

The 11 Pro Max is the third in the range, with the largest display and the most impressive specs.

If you want the best of the 11 range, the Pro Max is the one for you.

Price

As should be expected, the 11 Pro Max is the most expensive of the three iPhones, starting from around £800.

Display

The 11 Pro Max has a 6.5 inch display screen, the largest of the three iPhone 11s. This model also has the most colourful and detailed display with a 2688 x 1242 pixel resolution.

Size

It’s the biggest iPhone 11 at 158.9mm x 77.8mm x 8.1mm. It’s also the heaviest of the three at 226 grams, meaning it’s not necessarily the lightest or easiest to transport.

Camera

The 11 Pro Max has the same camera technology as the 11 Pro, with a triple 12MP rear camera (Telephoto, Wide, and Ultra Wide) and a single 12MP front camera. 4K video recording is available with all lenses.

Additional features include night mode, slow motion, 2x optical zoom in, 4x optical zoom range, 10x digital zoom, portrait mode, and depth control.

Storage

Similarly to the Pro, the 11 Pro Max comes with three storage capacities: 64GB, 256GB, or 512GB.

Battery

The 11 Pro Max offers the largest of the three batteries at 3,969mAh. This will give the user up to 20 hours video playback and 80 hours audio. It’s also compatible with Qi wireless charging, and fast charging.

Additional features

  • 4G
  • A13 Bionic chip
  • Face ID
  • IP68 waterproof rating, allowing the phone to be submerged in up to 4 metres of water for a maximum of 30 minutes
  • Bluetooth 5.0
  • NFC-enabled for contactless payments

Switched to Asda Mobile after Virgin Mobile decided to scrap all Pay as You Go sims from January, 22. Surprisingly, the switch was smooth, brilliant customer service and coverage better than Virgin mobile.
