What to look for in a good camera phone
The amount of megapixels
The higher the number of megapixels per camera, the stronger that camera is, so even if you’re comparing one rear camera against another, the smartphone with a 32MP camera will produce clearer and more detailed images than the one with a 12MP camera.
The amount of cameras
The above being said, if a phone has quad cameras that are 12MP each, and another has a dual camera that’s 16MP, the four 12MP cameras will probably create slightly richer pictures due to the number that can be utilised.
Types of camera lenses
Many phones have a Wide, Ultra Wide, and Telephoto camera, which help to capture the edges of large landscape images. If you’re more of a selfie person, looking for a phone that has a Macro camera and Depth Sensor camera will come in handier as they’re designed to capture the nuances of portrait photos.
AI
AI is being infiltrated into many aspects of our lives, from our kitchenware to our security. It’s also present in our smartphone cameras. If a phone has AI technology integrated into its camera system, you’ll usually benefit from photo suggestions and automatic tweaks to lighting, colour contrast, and facial features to create more professional-looking images.
Helpful features
The inclusion of helpful features like image and video stabilisation, as well as a host of additional qualities like panorama mode, night mode, and time-lapsing, will allow you to experiment with your photography whilst still being able to capture those important memories. Want to skateboard and record a video? Video stabilisation will help you keep the footage blur-free. Want to take a selfie under the stars? Night mode will snatch all of the best features without the glare of a flash.
