What Will the iPhone 8 Look Like?
Did you skip the iPhone 7? Waiting to see what comes next? First off: why? The iPhone 7 is an awesome phone with plenty of great features. Second: fair play!
The internet is currently ablaze with rumours of what Apple is going to be launching next, and pretty much everyone thinks the iPhone 8 is going to shake things up like we haven’t seen in years in the mobile space. Here’s a summary of the rumours of what the iPhone 8 might look like.
The screen While nothing’s been confirmed, many are expecting at least a higher end version of Apple’s new premium phone to feature a sharp, industry beating OLED display.
It’s pretty much a given that the screen will be wrap around like the Samsung Galaxy S7, so in other words, it will be edge to edge. This means that Apple will need to integrate the forward facing camera and the Touch ID button directly into the display. It also means…
No home button …that Apple’s long-standing Home button could disappear from the new phone, too! This would be a bold move for the company, but after the removal of the headphone port from the iPhone 7, we wouldn’t put it past them.
All of this means that Apple’s new handset will be more minimalistic and secure, with fewer moving parts to go wrong.
Wireless charging The final big rumour that’s gaining momentum is that the iPhone 8 will have wireless charging. This is something that Apple fans have been waiting for, but previous handsets haven’t had the glass back that enables this futuristic feature. That could be about to change, however, as many are predicting that the new phone will feature a full glass body.
All of this makes us a little bit hot under the collar, and it’s likely that we won’t hear more concrete details until later in the year. Apple has a consistent track record of releasing phones in September, so pretty much the only thing we can say for certain is that you’ll be able to buy your iPhone 8 in September this year.
