5 Easy Steps to Switch from Contract to PAYG

Once you are out of contract with your current provider you are free to leave them whenever you wish. However, if you are still in contract you will have to pay an exit fee to leave the network, the fee is dependent on the network provider you are with.

Coming to Asda Mobile from another Network

Once you have chosen Asda Mobile as your network you can make the move in 5 easy steps.

Step One:

The first thing you need to do is call your current network provider and check you are definitely out of contract. Then as long as you want to keep your current mobile number ask them for a port authorisation code (PAC)

Step Two:

Next you will need to ORDER YOUR FREE ASDA SIM CARD which comes as a multi SIM; this means that we can guarantee you will have the correct SIM for your phone.

Fill in the form and your SIM will arrive within 5 working days.

Step Three:

Wait for your SIM card and PAC to arrive. Don’t worry if the PAC arrives first, it is valid for up to 30 days.

Step Four:

HURRAY! You have now received your SIM card and your Pac number. The first thing you need to do now is put your new Asda Mobile SIM in your handset.

Then call 2732 from your mobile phone or 0800 079 2732 from a landline and register your new SIM. While you are on the phone tell the representative that you have a PAC and would like to transfer your current number from your old network.

You will need the following information to hand:

  • The telephone number you want to keep
  • The PAC from your previous network
  • The number that came with your new Asda SIM
  • You may need your SIM card number which can be found on the back of the SIM card.

Step Five:

After a maximum of 48hours your new SIM will be active with your original telephone number.

Important: you may lose network service for a short period of time while the transfer completes. If this happens, turn your phone off and on intermittently until you see the Asda Mobile signal on your screen. Your transfer is now COMPLETE!
