I've switched data roaming on, but it still isn't working

1. If you’ve switched on Data Roaming on your phone but still having issues, the next step is to check that your Asda mobile account is set correctly to use your data abroad. By default, Data Roaming is set to on, however if you wish to check whether this has been changed:

 

  1.  Log in to My Account.
  2.  Select ‘My Profile’ and then select ‘Preferences’.
  3. Check or switch 'roaming' on.

 

2. If this hasn’t resolved the issue, you can check and change your APN settings (used by your phone to connect to mobile data) by following these steps:

 

ON AN ANDROID MOBILE PHONE

If you have an Android device, the location of the APN settings may vary depending on the version of Android and the make / model of your phone. However, the APN settings are generally found in:

‘Settings’ > ‘Connections’ or ‘Networks and Internet’ > ‘Mobile networks’ > ‘Access Point Names’.

Press the menu button and choose to add new APN. Use the following settings:

  • Name: ASDA internet
  • APN: MY.INTERNET
  • Username: wap
  • Password: wap

 

ON AN APPLE MOBILE PHONE

Go to Settings > Mobile Data > Mobile Data Network. Use the following settings:

 Internet/Mobile Data

  • APN: MY.INTERNET
  • Username: wap
  • Password: wap

 

If you would like to use your device as a personal hotspot, then you will also need to update the following information under Personal Hotspot

  • APN: MY.INTERNET
  • Username: wap
  • Password: wap
