How do I change the APN settings on my phone to access the internet via mobile data?

The settings should already be sent to or set up on your phone, however some phones may need to be set up manually. Here's how to change the APN settings on an Android mobile phone.

ANDROID - Go to Settings > Wireless & networks > Mobile network > Access Point Names. Press the menu button and choose to add new APN. Use the following settings:

 

  • Name: ASDA internet
  • Internet APN: MY.INTERNET
  • MMS APN: MY.INTERNET
  • Username: wap
  • Password: wap
  • MMSC: http://mms.ad.vodafone.co.uk/servlets/mms
  • MMS Proxy: 212.183.137.012
  • MMS Port: 8799
  • MMS Protocol: WAP 2.0
  • Authentication Type: None
  • APN Type: default,mms,supl

 

APPLE - Go to Settings > Mobile Data > Mobile Data Network. Use the following settings:

 

  • Name: ASDA internet
  • Internet APN: MY.INTERNET
  • MMS APN: MY.INTERNET
  • Username: wap
  • Password: wap
  • MMSC: http://mms.ad.vodafone.co.uk/servlets/mms
  • MMS Proxy: 212.183.137.012
  • MMS Protocol: WAP 2.0
  • Authentication Type: None
  • APN Type: default,mms,supl
